A HUGE carmaker has revealed a new version of one of its most fun sportscars – and it could be one for the collectors.
Toyota has unveiled the GR86 Yuzu Edition, a special inspired by the long-discontinued Scion FR-S.

The limited-edition model arrives nine years after the FR-S disappeared from showrooms.
Named after a zesty Japanese fruit, the Yuzu Edition stands out with eye-popping yellow paint, matte black 18-inch wheels, and sleek black exterior trim.
Inside, the yellow theme continues with stitching and perforations on the sporty black suede-effect seats.
The car features the same 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine found in the standard GR86, pumping out 224bhp and 184lb-ft of torque.
Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
The Yuzu Edition also comes with Toyota’s Performance Pack as standard, which means uprated Brembo brakes and Sachs suspension.
Other extras like a GR-branded exhaust and body kit are also available.
Tech-wise, it packs an 8-inch touchscreen and an eight-speaker sound system, along with the full suite of features from the GR86 Premium trim.
Only 860 units will be made, and they’re exclusive to North America.
Pricing is yet to be confirmed, but the Yuzu Edition is expected to hit showrooms in autumn.

Fans of the original Scion FR-S have long called for its return, and Toyota’s nod to the cult classic with the Yuzu Edition is likely to strike a nostalgic chord.
Despite the GR86’s relatively affordable price point, it’s earned praise for its sharp handling, rear-wheel-drive layout, and simple, driver-focused approach making it a favourite for driving enthusiasts.
While this special edition won’t make it to UK shores, Toyota GR fans here can still enjoy the standard GR86, which has also gained a loyal following thanks to its performance and value.
Toyota has hinted this could be one of the last GR86 variants before emissions regulations begin to affect its future, meaning the Yuzu could be the last of its kind.
